Accra, Ghana – CCCPA will host the 13th Annual Meeting of the Integrated Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration Training Group (IDDRTG) in Cairo next year. The unanimous decision was taken during the 12th Annual Meeting held in Accra from 25 to 27 May 2016. CCCPA has also been chosen to co-chair for one year and will then chair for a 2nd year.The Accra meeting was attended by participants representing several members of the Group, including the United Nations Department of Peacekeeping Operations (UNDPKO), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), Folke Bernadotte Academy (FBA), Swedish Armed Forces International Centre (SWEDINT), Ecole de Maintien de la Paix (EMP), Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC), and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). Previous meetings took place in: Brindisi, Berlin and Pisa (2006), Nairobi (2007), Oslo (2008), Accra (2009), Stockholm (2010), Geneva (2011), Barcelona (2012 and 2013), Bonn (2014), and Geneva (2015).

Annual general meetings of the IDDRTG represent a unique opportunity for the Group to exchange experiences and to stay up to date with developments in the field. The Group’s focus is on continuous development of an integrated approach to DDR throughout planning, management and implementation. There are currently 16 active members.
